Deciphering the mechanisms of viral replication and transcription

The Yang lab is dedicated to deciphering the mechanisms governing genome replication and transcription of existing SARS-CoV-2 and emerging deadly coronaviruses. Our state-of-the-art cryo-EM imaging system together with the powerful analysis pipeline we developed has led to molecular insights into various fundamental biological processes including viral replication and proofreading, adaptive immunity evolution, and bacterial drug resistance. We are situated at Iowa State University in Ames where we are proud to create a creative, collaborative, and open-minded scientific research laboratory.
